About Gladys Ivette Colón
Gladys is a seasoned, bilingual, hands-on and well traveled publicist with over 20 years of experience in public relations and marketing, in the fields of entertainment, lifestyle, healthcare and trade events. She is knowledgeable about all facets and idiosyncrasies of the United States Hispanic market and Latin America, which enables her to create and implement creative and effective campaigns geared for its various demographic segments and publicity mediums.
Gladys has developed and implemented promotions in the United States in markets such as Puerto Rico, New York, Boston, Atlanta, Orlando, and Miami for brands and products such as Heineken/Amstel Light, Aceite Betis, Mirta de Perales, Don Q, Knorr, Arroz Rico, Gatorade, Arcor, Dove, Ponds, Tide, Snuggle, Close Up, Mirta de Perales, Hola América, ACCION USA and Today’s Grocer, among others. As part of her professional agency experience, she has organized promotional events and image campaigns for Univision 23, Accion USA and Westland Mall.
She is also part of the editorial staff for Vista Magazine/Impremedia, Imagen and Modo de Vida -Lifestyle Magazines. In the healthcare field, Gladys has developed the Woman’s & Family Fair for Kendall Regional Medical Center (1999-2001), developed prevention and educational campaigns for the Division of Gastroentology at Cedars Medical Center, and awareness campaigns for the use of new technology LANAP- Periolase for Fernandez Dental.
Her track record has brought her to be project manager of events such as the Latin Grammy's Street Parties 2003, People en Español Belleza Latina Model Search and Cover Girl Cosmetics, as well as forming part of the production of Fispal Latino and fundraiser galas. Her strong media relations in Florida and nationally have allowed her to establish a network and media outlet data accomplishing coverage in publications such as The Miami Herald/El Nuevo Herald, The New York Times, Florida International and magazines such as Imagen, Selecta, Vanidades, Venue as well as in electronic media such as Univision Network, Telemundo Network, NBC, CBS and FOX among others. Other projects in the Caribbean and Latin America include hi-end marketing efforts such as art exhibitions for the artist Daniel Bottero and the interior designer Miriam Moore.
Gladys holds a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Communications from Universitas a Sacro Corde in San Juan Puerto Rico, where she also continued her education working on her Master’s in Public Relations. She resides in Coral Gables, Florida and when she’s not working she loves traveling, discovering new cultures, and seeing how other people around the world live.
